Tips on repairing the VELOUR side of an air mattress? (picture)?

It’s pretty small, thankfully.
However, it’s on the velour side of my mattress and I want to make sure that I repair it correctly. I don’t want to have to end up throwing my $90 air mattress in the trash after all.
Will my standard patch kit work with the velour side of my mattress?

I have not had much success in such repairs, because the glue doesn’t stick as well to the velour as to the plain vinyl.
You might try using more glue than usual in hopes that it will seep into all the fibers. Do not just put a “rim” of glue around the edge of the patch, but paint one side of the patch completely with glue and press it firmly in place, with the mattress deflated. Allow to dry for 24 hours before refillling with air.
There will probably not be enough glue in your standard patch kit for this method. Instead, I suggest that you go to a swimming pool supply store and ask about their pool-patching supplies. (Vinyl pool liners are the same stuff your mattress is made of, though without velour.) They will have a brush-on adhesive, with vinyl strips that you can cut to fit.
Good luck! If that fails, consider replacing the air mattress with a much cheaper model. I sleep on camping-style air mattresses all the time, and because they are not designed for continuous use, I must replace them two or three times a year. If I watch for sales, I can often get a store-brand queen-size (without pump) for under $20. I figured that in the long run, it was cheaper than a Sleep Number bed or the like.
